Waymo has paused autonomous vehicle operations in Dallas, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio following flash flood safety incidents.

Waymo's robotaxi service is now suspended in both Atlanta and San Antonio, as the company works to stop its vehicles from driving into flooded roads.

“Waymo is coming to more riders both near and far,” Waymo Senior Product Lead Shweta Srivstava said in a statement. “Our ‘land and expand’ approach allows us to connect with more neighbors – ensuring we are there to support riders for everything from daily commutes and local errands to exciting nights out and the big game.”

Heavy rains hit the Atlanta area and flash floods caused cars to get stuck in the high water.
